Byron is a multi-award-winning film director living in both California and Indiana. He began his film education in High school making skate videos with his friends. Byron attended Santa Barbara City College and graduated with an associate’s degree in Philosophy while completing his first feature “Drowning.” Throughout his stay in Santa Barbara, He worked at local Santa Barbara TV as a Camera Operator. Completion of features “Drowning” and “Where you Goin With My Harmonica” by Michael Livingston led to his acceptance to San Francisco State University. He completed a degree in Cinema Production and Studies and his thesis project earned a Francis Ford Coppola Film Award in 16mm film for his graduating class.
After college, Byron worked at Golden Gate National Recreation Area as an Accessibility Media Specialist and installed hearing and seeing assistance devices on parks like Alcatraz Island, Muir Woods, and Fort Point. In 2011 Byron left GGNRA to pursue a documentary of life on the road called the RV Project.
Byron Jordan Wolter started Grumpy Golden Entertainment in 2012 after being on the road visiting all of the states for an extended period of time. His second feature How It Ends was released in 2016. How It Ends was selected for Middle Coast Film Festival in 2015 and won best feature film. How It Ends also won Best Editing, Best Actor, and Best Feature Film at the Mayday Film Festival in Evansville, IN. How It Ends got distribution through Adler and Associates in 2017 and was released to the world on Amazon Prime where it was streamed and was rated highly.

He was the main pilot camera operator for Indiana’s Wild Landscapes produced in 2017.
Most recently he complete a commercial for the Eskenazi Museum of Art that goes through the Museum quickly but allows the audience to get an enticing glance at what the museum has to offer. The campaign was targeted at IU students as the museum is a resource that is underused but is an incredible experience.
Byron currently teaches full-time at the new IU Media School and has been for 3 years. He enjoys teaching and seeing new students of film production and theory begin their journey of storytelling through visual language.
