FALL IN TIME - WATCHTOWER INDIANA

Are you from the land that changes all the time? Experience the season's change. Humans evolve and change with the changing of the weather. Our reflections on this planet evolve and metamorphize with the temperature and climate around us. I directed this film to observe this change, the change of humans and the earth in symbiosis. We are incredibly connected to this earth, in so many visible and invisible ways. I am trying different directing techniques in order to continue a practice in film. I would ask the subjects to simply do whatever comes to mind in the location, we planned on filming together. I then would follow with my cinema camera. It is an attempt to create something in the process of Cinema Verite. cinéma vérité, (French: “truth cinema”) French film movement of the 1960s that showed people in everyday situations with authentic dialogue and naturalness of action. I have found myself too close to my preproduction and visual previsualizations in the past. It was freeing to work through this process of intentionally not pre-visualizing scenes and allowing them to come together naturally. I believe both directing processes (Verite and Design) can work differently to add strength to both narrative and documentary projects. I am grateful for the time and space I got to share with the world and other humans while filming for this project. I feel that my process had grown deeper as a result, as well as my fondness for this planet’s natural places.
